Adrienne Geoghegan can help you hone your picture book text and illustrations, so that you give publishers and agents a professional and well thought out picture book proposal.

Why do you need objective picture-book editorial advice? Why do you need an independent review of your portfolio? Isn’t that the publisher’s or agent’s job?

Their job is so much easier when they receive fully developed picture book proposals or high quality illustration portfolios to place immediately with their clients.

If you do not have the time to commit to a full year on one of my courses, I have the time to help you develop your craft. I can help you with your creative process, whilst empowering you to find your vision. I am a published author and illustrator myself, so I know how challenging the journey to publication can be.  I can also tailor my services to help you shape the book that you have always wanted to write or illustrate, and the portfolio you have always dreamed of creating.

I can meet for personal one-to-one consultations by appointment for picture book proposals – both illustration and writing, plus general illustration portfolio reviews,  at The Ashling Hotel in Dublin near Heuston Train Station and the National Museum of Decorative Arts & History, Collins Barracks, Benburb Street, Dublin 7. Served by Luas red line 3 or 3 stops from the city centre. Stops: Museum or Heuston.

Consultation fees €100 per hour or part thereof.

 July 2013 Testimonials
I had a one to one consultation with Adrienne in relation to picture books. I found her advise clear, concise and practical. Adrienne is friendly, professional, insightful and encouraging. I had gotten to a certain stage with some projects but was unsure as to how to proceed and found the consultation gave me a clear idea of what to do next. Adrienne is helpful and easy to talk to and I would have no hesitation in recommending her or consulting with her again.  Liz Rackard

I found my consultation with Adrienne very useful.  I am a water colour artist but a complete beginner in the area of book illustration so she gave me simple, practical advice about how to develop individual pictures and also how to conceive the whole sequence of images as they would be experienced by a reader turning the pages.  She urged me to follow my own instincts and preferences in terms of style and medium, which I found enormously encouraging.  She made the whole undertaking seem quite possible – whereas it hadn’t really before!  She also explained a lot about how publishers work so that my partner was able to decide how to proceed with the business side of things. Anne McLeod

Our time spent with Adrienne was very helpful. She made us feel that our project was viable and set us on the path of bringing it to fruition with practical advice and criticism. I look forward to working with her again when we get to the next stage. O.G.

    Hi Ida,
I can meet you tonight at 7pm or next week? We could discuss what course is most suitable then. Evenings are best from 6 to 7 if that’s OK. I could also meet you tonight at 7pm if you were free in the Ashling Hotel> but let me know asap so I can arrange the time.
